A volunteer group on social media was trying to gather donations on Sunday to help a grandmother, aged 82, after a group of teenagers flung a firecracker at her front door, leaving her Limassol home in ruins.

According to a Facebook post, the incident took place on Saturday night at Pelendri village, Limassol.

“They threw a firecracker at the front door of an elderly grandmother’s house and as a result, there was a fire which burned down everything she owns. Clothes, shoes and everything else in the house.”

The post pleaded for medium-sized clothes, shoes sized 35-36, a wardrobe and anything that people could help with.

It appears the woman was physically unharmed from the attack.
