Coronavirus: Threatening email sent to health ministry, municipalities

29

Police on Tuesday were investigating a threatening email sent to municipalities and the health ministry demanding the lifting of measures concerning the unvaccinated.

Among other demands, the email reportedly threatened the recipients that on Wednesday they will have their last meal unless the measures are lifted.

According to the current measures, unvaccinated individuals will not be able to visit key sectors including restaurants, cafés, pubs, music and dance venues, open air and covered stadiums, theatres and cinemas as of Wednesday.

Police spokesman Christos Andreou said that the email in question was sent to Nicosia and Larnaca municipalities as well as the ministry, and is being investigated.
