The Yeroskipou municipality is set to upgrade its coastal front, according to Mayor Kyriacos Hadkivassilis.

Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency on Tuesday, Hadjivassilis said the municipal council along with the beach administration committee drew up a series of actions aimed at upgrading the town’s coastal front, including removing seaweed and pebbles brought to the shore by the waves.

He also added that usual maintenance of the town’s communal areas and infrastructures, such as tree pruning, repainting of buildings and installation of sea umbrellas, was also underway.

Hadjivassilis emphasised that Yeroskipou’s beach area is set to undergo a complete upgrade, adding that more parking places are set to be created.

“However, it will be difficult to see them ready before the start of the tourist season, so we are aiming to complete the projects by September or October,” he said.

The mayor also said that steps are being taken to improve access to the road that leads to the beach area, as street lighting will be upgraded and green areas will be expanded.

Finally, he promised to install gym equipment on the coastal front, along with two small sport fields.
