An event in support of the Russian Federation was held on Sunday around noon in Paphos.
About 350-400 Russians, Pontian Greeks, Belarusians, and others gathered in Kato Paphos for a rally, carrying Greek and Russian flags.
According to Paphos assistant police chief Michalis Ioannou, the event started with a motorcade from the municipal parking lot on Grigori Afxentiou Street and ended at the Paphos port.
Participants rode in vehicles and walked along the coastal front of Poseidonos Avenue, chanting anti-fascist, anti-Nazi and pro-Russian slogans.
During their passage through leisure centres, there were some verbal confrontations with people present.
According to Ioannou, the event, which took place with discreet police presence, ended peacefully and the participants dispersed without incident.
