Interior Minister Nicos Nouris departed for Bulgaria and Slovenia on Wednesday morning, where he will pay an official visit at the invitation of his counterparts to discuss the migration issue.

According to a statement issued by the ministry, the main subject of the meetings with Bulgarian Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov and Slovenian Interior Minister Ales Hojs will be cooperation between Cyprus and the two countries on the management of migration flows and the effort to reach an agreement on a common European pact on asylum and migration.

The management of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine will also be discussed, as well as the possibility of bilateral cooperation in the field of political and economic cooperation, the statement said.

During the minister’s stay in Sofia, he will be received by the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, with whom he will have the opportunity to discuss ways to further deepen relations between the two countries, following the visit of President Nicos Anastasiades to Bulgaria in 2020.
