Paphos business owner faces charges in illegal gambling case

Paphos police have obtained a court order suspending the operation of premises pending investigations it was being used for gambling, the Cyprus News Agency reported on Thursday.

Paphos police spokesman Michalis Nicolaou told the news agency that police had raided the premises on Niovi street, on December 30, 2021, and confiscated a number of computers on suspicion they were being used for casino games.

On Wednesday, police brought charges against the owner and obtained a court order suspending the operation of the business until the case goes to trial.
