Eight arrested over illegal gambling in Paphos

Police on Tuesday night arrested eight individuals on suspicion of illegal gambling activities in Paphos.

Paphos police spokesman Michalis Nikolaou told CNA that the police, after receiving a tip conducted an operation at the suspected premises where he said seven individuals were found engaging in illegal gambling activities.

During the search, the police confiscated 57 gaming chips and 109 playing cards.

The seven individuals along with the owner of the premise were charged and released to be summoned later.
