35-year-old arrested with forged documents

Paphos police on Wednesday said they have arrested a 35-year-old man after he attempted to board a flight using fake documents.

The suspect arrived at Paphos airport around 7pm on Tuesday with the aim to depart to Poland.

He presented a German residence permit which appeared forged, Paphos CID chief and police spokesman Michalis Nicolaou told the Cyprus News Agency.

Furthermore, his details could not be found in the Republic’s arrivals and departures system.

The man is facing charges related to forgery, circulation of a forged document as well as illegal entry and stay into the Republic.
