Inland and in mountainous areas of the island could be hit by thunderstorms and hailstorms on Monday afternoon as the met office forecast mainly fine weather up tp then with temperatures slightly higher than the seasonal average.

Temperatures, however, will remain high, around 33C inland, from 28C to 30C on the coasts and 22C in the mountains.

Monday night will be mainly fine, with increased cloud at intervals. Temperatures will fall to 18C inland, around 19C on the coasts and 14C in the mountains.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be mainly fine, but with increased cloud at intervals and possible isolated thunderstorms in the mountains.

Temperatures are expected to remain above the seasonal average throughout the week.
