A 39-year-old was remanded for six days on Tuesday for drugs possession and the intent to supply and dangerous driving in Limassol after he crashed into a police car.

According to police, the man was stopped in Limassol just after midnight on Tuesday morning when the police signalled him to stop for a check but he attempted to flee.

In his attempt to avoid arrest he crashed into a police car, resulting in two police officers being slightly injured. The car was finally stopped when a police officer shot the tyres with his service gun.

During a search of the car, a white crystalline substance and methamphetamine were found.

The suspect appears to have been carrying a larger quantity of drugs which he dumped during the pursuit. Police are still looking for the missing drugs.
