Police in Paphos investigating a case of kidnapping and assault

Police in Paphos are investigating a case of alleged kidnapping and assault against a 25-year-old, who reported two men attacking him late on Tuesday.

The man said he was in a vehicle outside Paphos with another person late on Tuesday when the driver suddenly stopped the car and sprayed him with a liquid that made him lose consciousness.

When he woke up, his hands were tied and, along with the driver of the vehicle, there was another man. According to the 25-year-old they threatened him with a weapon he recalled being an axe.

He eventually managed to escape and contact the police. The man, who sustained light injuries, was then taken to the A&E department of the Paphos hospital.

Police took the man’s statements and are currently searching for the two perpetrators.
