Weather forecast: Mainly fine, temperatures at 36C inland

Wednesday will start off mainly fine, but clouds that accumulate from midday on are expected to lead to isolated showers with the possibility also of storms in the mountains and inland, the met office said in its early morning forecast.

Temperatures will rise to 36C inland, around 29C on the west coast, around 31C on remaining coasts and around 25C in the higher mountains.

Wednesday night will be mainly fine, and temperatures will drop to 20C inland and on the southwest and north coasts, around 21C on the remaining coasts and around 16C in the mountains.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will see the same pattern, with the days starting off mainly fine but clouds gathering from midday on possibly leading the scattered showers mainly in the mountains.

Temperatures are expected to remain at the same levels on Thursday, edging up on Friday and Saturday to above the seasonal average.
