Police at Larnaca airport have seized 13.2 kilos of cannabis hidden in two cartons that had been sent to Cyprus from abroad, the second big haul in the past few days.

Police said on Wednesday the drugs were found by anti-narcotics officers and customs department officials on Tuesday as part of checks against illegal substances.

This is the second large quantity of cannabis hidden in packages seized by police at Larnaca airport in recent days, police said.

On July 11, police had arrested three individuals after finding 13.5 kilos of cannabis in packages that had arrived at the airport from abroad.

Police investigations continue.
