Neighbours immobilise attacker in knife assault

A 44-year-old man, who was attacked in Ypsonas, Limassol, was taken to Limassol general hospital Sunday night with a stab wounds to his neck and other parts of his body. The alleged perpetrator, a 41-year-old man, was stopped by neighbours and arrested.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 10pm, in an open space where the two men seem to have met to resolve their personal differences.

At some point, the 41-year-old allegedly pulled out a kitchen knife and injured the 44-year-old, who began calling for help.

Neighbours rushed to the scene and pursued the alleged perpetrator, who they managed to immobilise, while the police and an ambulance were called to the scene.

The victim was taken to Limassol general hospital for treatment, while the 41-year-old was arrested and taken into custody.

The knife was found and taken as evidence from the scene.
