Today’s Weather: Yellow alert in place

A  yellow weather alert is in place lasting from midday Tuesday until 5pm. Vulnerable groups, children and the elderly are urged to take precautions.

During the day the weather will be mostly clear and winds will initially be north-easterly to south-easterly to south-westerly on the on the western coast, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually south-westerly to north-westerly, of the same intensity in the afternoon. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to 40C degrees inland, 35C in the south-east and east coasts, 33C in the west and south-west coasts, 36C in the north coast and 31C in the higher mountains.

On Tuesday night the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will initially be mainly south-westerly to north-westerly, weak to moderate locally, 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually becoming north-westerly to north-easterly and on the north coast south-easterly, weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to 25C inland, on the south-east and east coast, 21C on the south-west coast, 23C on the west and north coasts, and 19C in the higher mountains.

The weather on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny.

The temperature until Friday is not expected to change significantly, remaining above average for the season.
