Lights, camera, action! It goes a little like that when TEDx events take place, setting the stage for speakers with motivational stories and crowd games. The next local event is to arrive in the heart of autumn and it will be the first TEDx event in a while, resuming after a long pandemic break. Preparations are underway for TEDx Limassol whose theme this year is Living on the Edge.

“Now more than ever,” states TEDx Limassol’s official website, societies are living on the edge. What lies beyond the edge is both exciting and daunting. Breakthrough innovation and technology, economic, societal and political new world structures, opportunity, possibility. If we can avoid the pitfalls, we are on the threshold of exhilarating change. On November 19 at TEDxLimassol, together we will embark on what lies beyond the edge.”

Held at Parklane Resort and Spa, the one-day event will welcome 12 speakers and performers who will aim to captivate audiences with their storytelling, inspiring personal achievements and raw moments.

Taking up the role of the host this year is a well-known Greek stand-up comedian, improv actor and writer, Lambros Fisfis. The comedian has written and performed three stand-up comedy specials and has toured Greece, Europe and the world entertaining audiences for the past 12 years. In recent years, he has become a favourite with Cypriot audiences as well with sold-out shows at local theatres. This time he will return to the island to entertain but also engage with viewers and TEDx speakers alike.

Although the day’s programme and the line-up of speakers have not been shared yet, the invited guests who will take the stage will share experiences, stories and ideas that push the boundaries of how humans perceive their lives. Beyond thought-provoking storytelling, the event will be a full-day experience from 9am to 6pm of limitless ideas and numerous interactive parallel events.
