A 27-year-old Paphos resident has been arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, police said.

The man was arrested in the early hours of Monday after testing positive for both drugs and drink. He was found to be around three times over the limit with a breathalyser test for alcohol consumption.

A small amount of cannabis, around eight grammes, and a precision scale were also found in his possession, police said.

The arrest happened around 2.40am when traffic police signalled the car to pull over on Apostolou Pavlou Avenue in Paphos.

The 27-year-old’s car was taken to the offices of the traffic police where it was examined and it was found that modifications and changes had been made.

The suspect was charged and released to appear in court at a later date.
