Breast cancer survivors will have the opportunity to book a free nipple reconstruction during an event by Celebrate Your Scars initiative in Nicosia this October.

For the third consecutive year, the Celebrate Your Scars initiative based in Greece and Cyprus as well as the volunteer support team will hold an all-day event on the island.

The event will take place on October 22 at the EIPS European institute of plastic surgery in the capital and will include music, healthy snacks and gifts for beauty and wellness.

On that day, women who were diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy will be able to make a personal appointment for a free nipple reconstruction with medical tattooing.

Celebrate Your Scars will also hold three more events in Greece in October as well as an information event through the international online European medical tattoo conference on October 15, where doctors and other experts will speak on related topics.

The initiative was launched by Rebecca Giannopoulou who started nipple tattooing for cancer survivors in 2016 with the aim to “turn signs of war into symbols of peace”.
