Paphos police clamp down on cannabis

In the last three days, Paphos police caught two people driving under the influence and three others in possession of drugs.

According the police information, on Friday Paphos traffic police stopped a car driven by a 23-year-old and found him to be in possession of 82 grams of cannabis, a precision scale, and €1,170 in cash. The 23-year-old was placed under house arrest for three days.

On Saturday police on routine patrol stopped a 22-year-old electric moped driver for inspection. The 22-year-old man was found to be in possession of 0.86 grams of cannabis and tested positive in a drug test.

Also on Sunday police stopped another vehicle driven by a 23-year-old man with four passengers. The driver tested positive in a drug test and two hand-rolled cigarettes with traces of cannabis were found in the possession of a passenger. The case is under ongoing investigation by the Paphos police drugs squad.
