Dead body found in Strovolos (updated)

deadbody

The body of a dead woman was found in Strovolos, Nicosia at around 4pm on Tuesday, police said.

The body was found on the second floor of an abandoned residence on a secondary road off Kennedy Avenue by the owner of the house who went there to conduct repair works before selling it.

The body bore traumas to the head from a sharp instrument.

Due to the nature of the injuries, it is difficult to verify the body’s identity further.

“It appears to be a criminal act,” head of Nicosia CID Andreas Lambrianou said.

Police are further investigating whether the crime was committed at the abandoned house or elsewhere and was subsequently moved there.

Police were still on scene investigating, as coroner Nicholas Charalambous had been.
