The bicommunal centre Europe Direct will begin operations on September 8 according to an announcement.

It is situated in the Home Gallery at Ledra Palace, just opposite the Home of Cooperation.

The centre aims at answering citizens’ questions on European affairs, provide EU informational material and publications as well as house events and meetings thus transforming the center to a reference point.

More specifically, it aims at informing EU citizens of their rights and EU’s priorities, promote citizen participation on a local and regional level, inform on EU legislation as well as to how they are being implemented in Cyprus.

In addition, it will provide information on various EU programmes, grants, and funding opportunities available to individuals and organisations in Cyprus aiming at increasing employment and education opportunities for citizens.

The centre is accessible by all communities of the island.
