Europol director focuses on organised crime in Cyprus meeting

Europol executive director Catherine De Bolle and Justice Minister Stefi Drakou discussed issues of common interest, and ways to deal with organised crime and terrorism at their meeting on Monday.

According to the ministry’s announcement, the two women discussed the cooperation between Europol and Cyprus police, “which covers a wide range of methods to deal with organised crime and terrorism”.

Drakou and De Bolle also looked into cooperating further on the immigration issue.

The minister thanked De Bolle for her visit and the support of Europol, especially to Cyprus.

She said that she is certain that the close cooperation of the two sides will continue with the aim of both effectively dealing with the immigration issue, as well as fighting criminal activities and assessing modern risks.
