Nurseries demand rehiring of school assistants

nurderies

The Proodeftiki Teachers and Nursery Teachers movement on Thursday criticised the government decision not to rehire 116 school assistants at public nursery schools.

In a statement the movement said that these 116 assistants would not be rehired, after working intensely for two years to ensure all the health protocols in public nurseries were maintained.

The government made the decision in 2020 to hire 116 nursery school assistants for four hours a day, to ensure the health protocols were met.

These individuals, the movement said, also worked during last school year.

The movement called the government decision unacceptable and called on the education ministry to recall their decision.
