Cyprus Pride ‘needs your help to look fabulous’

Accept LGBTI Cyprus is seeking two semi-trucks or double cab pick-up trucks to be decorated and become pride vehicles at the Nicosia march next week.

The NGO has issued an announcement on their social media account saying: “Cyprus Pride 2022 needs your help to look fabulous”.

Two semi- or double cab trucks together with their drivers, are needed to be used at the annual pride march on September 25.

Cyprus pride parade returns this year following a two-year-pandemic pause to promote marriage equality. It will take place at 5.30pm with the starting and finishing point of the march being the Nicosia municipal gardens.

Earlier in the day, Accept issued an announcement denouncing the state primary teachers’ association (Poed) for rejecting their invitation to participate in the march.

Adding that this was not the first time Poed refuses to be involved in similar actions, the organisation said it will seek a meeting with the association’s representatives “to find ways of cooperation for the benefit of our children”.

More information on the march and related events can be found on the Accept – LGBTI Cyprus page and social media.
