A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of carrying out an arson attack on his brother’s car in Ayios Athanasios, Limassol.

He is due in court later on Wednesday. According to Limassol CID, the suspect has confessed.

The fire was spotted by the complainant and his family in the early hours of Tuesday, when it spread to a curtain in the house as the vehicle was parked next to a window.

It was extinguished by the occupants while subsequent examinations revealed that the fire was set maliciously.

The motive is attributed to personal differences between the two brothers.
