Musical Interlude

oct 1

As part of the Mary Plant: Mythographies exhibition at Palia Ilektriki in Paphos, a musical interlude will take place as one of the showcase’s parallel activities. On Saturday, the musical compositions Anthogramma (2018) by Ayis Ioannidis and Processional (2021) by Constantinos Y Stylianou will be presented for the first time alongside the work of Mary Plant which acted as a source of inspiration for their composition. Both compositions draw from the respective works of Plant’s Anthograms (2005) and Aphroditissa (2000).

The music will begin at 7pm at the Cultural Centre with Ioannidis’ Anthogramma performed by Virginie Bove on flute, George Georgiou on clarinet, Nikos Pantehis on accordion and Drosostalida Moraiti on piano. Then a performance of Stylianou’s Processional will be brought to life in a solo piece by Virginie Bove.

On the occasion of the event, the curators of the exhibition will present the books Mary Plant: Mythographies, co-published by the deputy ministry of culture, along with the self-published artist’s book Anthograms by Mary Plant.
