Four arrested in illegal entry case

sigm

Four arrests were made early on Friday morning on allegations of assisting illegal entry into the country, after police stopped a vehicle along the Larnaca-Dhekelia road.

The incident took place at about 8:30pm on Thursday night when police checked the car, where they discovered that a 22-year-old woman had arrived in Cyprus via an illegal airport – likely referring to Tymbou (Ercan) in the north.

She was arrested for illegal entry, while another three persons in the car – aged 20, 27 and 28 – were arrested on Friday morning on allegations of assisting illegal entry and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The other three suspects claim that they do not know the woman, who had asked them to take her to Larnaca.
