Police Car2

A 36-year-old has been arrested after being caught stealing fuel from a parked car, Limassol police said on Wednesday.

According to the police report, a complaint was made around 11pm on Tuesday night by a driver who was parking his car at a parking lot in Yermasoyia.

He spotted a man hiding behind a parked car whose fuel tank was open, with a garden hose coming out of the opening and going into a container.

He held the suspect on the scene until officers from Limassol and Yermasoyia police stations arrived.

The suspect did not give satisfactory answers but a search in his car turned up a torch, a piece of garden hose identical to the one used on the car, and a toolbox.

The man was then arrested, and police are reviewing CCTV footage in the area.
