Dozens of cultural events are planned for the season as part of the Nicosia International Festival. Performances which started in late October will continue until December 27. This November music and theatre events are being presented, offering something for young and old.

On the first weekend of November, Giorgos Hadjipieris and his Lazy Dragon will be in Nicosia. After five records, 200 million views on YouTube and a huge reception in Greece and Cyprus, Lazy Dragon and its creator Hadjipieris present themselves in front of their audience for the first time, and have chosen the Nicosia International Festival as their first stop.

The musical performance is composed by director Konstantinos Rigos, with Rena Morphi, Yiannis Dionysiou, Sofia Papazoglou, Doros Demosthenous and many children’s voices. The show will include Lazy Dragon’s greatest hits and brings the world of the Lazy Dragon to life with magic, humour, twists, colours, joy and excitement.

routesOn the following weekend, Marina Spanou will bring her music to the stage. Her musical journey began in Athens as she spent the summer afternoons of 2020 singing in the streets under the Acropolis. Slowly more and more people gathered to enjoy her music, stopping to listen to her.

Through social media, Marina kept her audience posted on her next live gigs and they responded with more and more enthusiasm. In the summer of 2021 she released her first album If It Ever Withers, which acts as a stroll through her favourite Athenian corners and the neighbourhoods that hosted her love stories. Her songs were quickly embraced and this led to performances at numerous venues in Athens, Thessaloniki and Patra.

In May 2022 her song Jasmine was released along with her second video clip and six months later, the Nicosia International Festival is presenting Marina to the audience of her motherland. At the Municipal Theater of Nicosia, with her guitar in her arms, she will share her retro stories and encourage listeners to dream.

Also coming up during the second weekend of November is Routes λ2. Following its premiere at the 2021 festival, Routes λ2 returns to the streets of Nicosia. A bus full of inspiring stories from the LGBTI+ community will depart from the Nicosia Municipal Theatre on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 for routes around the city.

This pioneering theatrical event will take place inside a Cyprus Public Transport bus, and the stories told are those that often remain on the sidelines. The audience is no longer a simple spectator in the theatrical act since it will be an integral part of it, thus inaugurating a new relationship between the spectator and the action.
