Two football fans fined, banned from games

Larnaca district court fined two football fans on Friday and banned them from stadium participation, after they were found guilty of violence at a football event which took place on Monday.

Specifically, the court imposed €500 fines, as well as a six-month ban on entry to sports venues. According to the court decision, for the duration of the ban, the 23 and 24-year-old fans are required to present themselves at a police station 30 minutes prior to the start of matches in which their team will be playing, and to leave the station 30 minutes following the end of the match.

The two young men were found guilty of violent acts during the match between the Aris  and Paphos teams on November 28, at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium in Larnaca.
