Man dies tragically while pruning

A 67-year-old landscaper suffered a fatal work accident in Limassol early on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police, the victim, Angelos Mandela, originally from Greece, lost his balance and fell from a 4.5 m height while pruning an olive tree at a Germasogeia residence.

The unfortunate man first hit a metal pool installation and then the ground. He was transferred by ambulance to Limassol general hospital where he succumbed to his injuries two hours later.

Members of the police, medical examiners and labour department inspectors are examining the scene of the accident to investigate the circumstances of the tragic incident, while the exact cause of death will be determined by autopsy.
