Court imposes ban on convicted football hooligan

Larnaca district court on Monday banned a 23-year-old fan, found guilty of using a dangerous instrument during the Aek – Apoel match held November 22, 2021, at AEK Arena football pitch from attending sports venues.

Police spokesman Haris Hadjiyiasemi told the Cyprus News Agency (CAN) that the court sentenced the 23-year-old to a €700 fine and a six-month ban on entering sports venues.

For the period of the ban, the man must present himself to the police station 30 minutes prior to the start of Aek matches and leave 30 minutes after the end of the match.
