Man arrested for stealing icon

A 52-year-old man was arrested after stealing an icon from the Apostle Barnabas Monastery in the north, reports said on Tuesday.

According to the reports, the 52-year-old suspect was recognised in Kyrenia, after a call went out from authorities in the north.

Police said that the man’s apartment was searched, where the icon was found along with another two icons.

All were seized as evidence.

Police in the north are continuing their investigations.
