Paphos signs contract for central square revamp

A €5 million contract for the revamp of Theoskepasti Square in Kato Paphos and the streets surrounding was signed on Tuesday.

According to an announcement released by the town’s municipality, the project will revitalise the historic area of Paphos.

The contract was signed at the town hall by mayor Phaedonas Phaedonos and Miltiades Neophytou, CEO of the company that won the tender, Miltiades Neophytou Civil Engineering Contractors & Developers Ltd.

The project, which will cover a total of 17,500 square metres, includes the replacement of the asphalt, the construction of pavements around the square, as well as the maintenance and restoration of the underground network of utilities.

The works are expected to be completed within 12 months from the start date. The project is also co-financed by the Cohesion Policy Funds of the European Union.
