Local trio Trio Frisson will return to Sarah’s Nicosia jazz bar on February 4 to present new material from their upcoming second album Feast of Fools, scheduled for release later this year.

With funky six-string basslines locked into boom-bap drum beats, complemented by Rhodes keyboard and soulful vocals, the band presents a vivid live set of original songs. Its sound betrays a wide range of influences, mostly incorporating flavours of Soul, Groove and Funk with occasional hints of Reggae and Hip-Hop.

The band has evolved greatly since the release of their debut album Great Escapes back in 2013. Formed out of a shared love for Soul and Groove music, they first emerged on the scene 10 years ago, presenting new original songs alongside unique re-worked and re-imagined cover versions.

Performances over the years have included Cyprus World & Jazz Showcase (2016 & 2021), Afro Banana Festival (2017), Fengaros Festival (2016), Farma Projekt (2016), Windcraft (2016), Moonwalk Festival (2016 – 2022), as well as being featured on a number of TV specials. Next Saturday, Jamie Paul, Byron Athinodorou and Alex Papadopoulos make their comeback at Sarah’s Jazz Club with brand-new music.
