Traffic control employee assaulted, vehicle damaged

Masked men attacked and injured a private employee conducting traffic checks in a village of the Limassol district in the early morning hours on Sunday.

The 37-year-old employee of a private company was by himself in a vehicle carrying out traffic control around 2.20am when six men who had their faces covered attacked him.

The group were holding various items that can be used as weapons and threw rocks against the car, breaking the driver’s window. They also threw rocks at the man, who sustained head injuries.

He was rushed to the accidents and emergency department of the Limassol general hospital where he was treated and then released.
