Police on Tuesday arrested a 43-year-old man in Paphos for a case of theft and dealing in stolen property, and are seeking to establish the whereabouts of a second suspect in the case.

According to police spokesman and CID chief Michalis Nicolaou, police were called to a work site in Kissonerga on Tuesday where a 62-year-old man showed police aluminium mold rails that he alleged were unlawfully in the possession of the 43-year-old, also present at the scene.

The accuser told police he recognised the 73 aluminium mold rails, as among items stolen from his field in Emba between May 21 and 23. The theft involved 200 rails in total, worth €1,000.

When questioned, the 43-year-old told police he had bought the items from another person, a 37-year-old man.

Police arrested the 43-year-old, who is under investigation for possession of stolen property, and an arrest warrant has been issued against the 37-year-old.
