Limassol police arrested a 17-year-old teenager and a 21-year-old man on suspicion of stealing from an elderly woman’s home this week.

The two were arrested on Friday on charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and theft from a residence.

Police said the theft took place on Monday afternoon. According to the 82-year-old complainant, she was sitting inside her house with the entrance door open around 5pm when an unknown young man appeared and asked her to give him some water.

The woman went to the kitchen to pour the water which she then offered to the stranger.

But when he left, she realised some money, jewellery and personal documents were missing from her bag.
