For Lidl Cyprus, social solidarity and supporting fellow human beings and children are one of the main pillars of its actions. Recently, as gold sponsor of the “Fighting for LIFE… for Dreams and Wishes” charity football match, conveying the message “We happily play for the little champions!”, Lidl Cyprus made a strong showing in aid of the ‘One Dream One Wish’ Association for kids with cancer and related diseases.

The event took place on June 12, at Larnaca’s Antonis Papadopoulos stadium, co-organised by the ‘One Dream One Wish’ Association, the ‘FC Cyprus Veterans Team’ and the ‘Elite National Veterans Team of Greece’. All proceeds were donated toward the financial support of the Association.

Well-known Greek footballers, who had made history by winning the Euro 2004, such as Giorgos Karagounis, Kostas Katsouranis and Angelos Basinas, as well as veteran Cypriot football players, took part in the game, in a great celebration of humanity and sports. Singers and actors also graced the match with their presence.

Vantastic, Lidl Cyprus’ popular mobile canteen, was at the event, too, offering match-goers their favourite healthy snacks.
