President Nikos Christodoulides on Thursday presided over a roundtable discussion at the Presidential Palace with foreign investors, jointly organised by the government and national promotional agency Invest Cyprus.

The event was attended by more than 20 foreign investors and companies who have made direct investments or relocated their headquarters to Cyprus, covering a wide range of key sectors of the economy, including technology (ICT), financial services, real estate and construction, services, education, shipping, as well as retail and wholesale trade.

Government representatives included the Ministers of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Energy, Commerce, and Industry, as well as the Deputy Ministers of Shipping, Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, the Government Spokesperson, and the Secretary of the Council of Ministers.

During the discussion, the President of the Republic emphasised the importance that the government attributes to investors operating in the country, considering them as partners in the effort to enhance Cyprus’ role as an international business centre.

Meanwhile, the investors in attendance informed the government about the obstacles and challenges they face and made relevant recommendations for improving Cyprus’ investment and business environment.

Finally, President Christodoulides stated that in the coming months, a follow-up discussion will be organised, during which the government will update the investors on the actions taken.
