The positions of the Paphos chamber of commerce and industry regarding the region’s planned new marina have been adopted by the deputy ministry of tourism, the chamber’s chairman has said.

Speaking on Wednesday, George Mais said that investors will have the opportunity to build a hotel, a pier for cruise ships, and mansions at the marina, which is set to be built in the village of Kissonerga.

With the deputy ministry and local authorities now on the same page, the hiring process for consultants will begin in July, for the tendering process to begin thereafter.

Mais said this was a “positive development”, and that he expects the consultants to be hired and in place by the end of the year.
