Police in Paphos arrested two minors who were riding motorcycles on Saturday.

Paphos police chief Michalis Nikolaou said the arrests were made with the aim of “combatting juvenile delinquency”.

The first child, aged 16, was found to be riding a motorcycle without a licence and insurance, while his motorcycle had been declared as “off the road”.

Following the child’s arrest, police called his father to the station to inform him of the situation.

The second child, aged 17, was found to be riding a motorcycle with no registration plates.

Nikolaou added that police in Paphos will continue carrying out further such checks.
