The conditions of the two women hospitalised with dengue fever at the Nicosia general hospital are stable, according to State Health Services (Okypy) spokesperson Charalmabos Charilaou.

Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) on Monday, Charilaou, however, said that the two women are still closely monitored.

He said that the two, a mother and daughter, recently returned from Saudi Arabia. Both are receiving necessary medical care under special conditions.

“Their condition is relatively stable, and if all goes well, they may be discharged on Tuesday,” Charilaou said.

“What we want to underline is the significant capabilities that public hospitals, particularly the special infectious diseases unit at the Nicosia general hospital, have in handling such challenging and complex cases, primarily concerning public health,” he added.
