An eventful Monday

default

It is not very often that Monday night is packed with events yet next week is an exception. Four diverse events are happening in Nicosia and Larnaca on December 4. Here’s what’s on after the weekend.

In Nicosia, a two-part, free photography workshop will take place on Monday evening on Ifigeneias Street, organised by the ‘Women need more sleep because fighting the patriarchy is exhausting’ group. The first part of the workshop on Monday will take place from 6pm to 9pm and will be an introduction to photography where participants will discuss the history and theory of the art by looking at works of significant female photographers. Led by Ermina Dimitriou, a small task will be given to participants at the end of the workshop which they should complete by the second meeting on December 15.

Over at Moondog’s Bar & Grill, the A Very Merry Charity Party will commence at 5pm with a market, drinks and bites to raise money for the Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation. Besides local arts and crafts, a magic show for children will happen at 6pm whilst at 7.30pm Sin Plin band will perform live.

In Larnaca, the Larnaka 2030 organisation organises an open discussion on Monday night with the visual artists of the city. The event will focus on the co-creation processes planned in the context of the candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2030 and the preparation of the artistic programme. Artists from the region are invited to join the discussion which will commence at 7pm at the Larnaka 2030 Gallery in Zouhouri Square.

Later in the evening, the Larnaca Cinema Society will screen the multi-award-winning Italian film The Eight Mountains at Skala Municipal Theatre at 8.30pm. The 2022 film is an epic journey of friendship and self-discovery between Pietro and Bruno set in the Italian Alps. What’s more, entrance is free and cinephiles can also take part in the 15-minute discussion that will follow the screening.
