Vladimiros Tziortzis is the first Cypriot who had the honour of stepping on the stage at NASCAR’s annual awards in the United States.

The Cypriot driver was in Nashville, where the annual NASCAR awards were held at the Music City Center.

NASCAR was celebrating the completion of its 75th racing season with festivities and awards in the top three classes in the USA: CUP, XFINITY and CRAFTSMAN SERIES.

On the same stage were the stars of regional and other NASCAR-branded championships both in the US and around the world. Tziortzis received the European runner-up award for the second place he took in the NASCAR WHELEN EURO SERIES 2023 in the EURO NASCAR 2 category.

The celebration program continued with a parade through the streets of Nashville, Tennessee. Also, the distinguished drivers of 2023 were at NASCAR HOUSE where they got a taste of driving in NASCAR race simulators on an oval track.

“It is an experience I will never forget. I enjoyed every moment. It is a great honour for me to be here representing our small island among the giants of motorsports and also our continent, Europe, since the NASCAR WHELEN EURO SERIES is the only NASCAR regional championship outside the American continent ( In addition, there are championships in Mexico and Brazil and several championships in the USA as well as eNASCAR)” says Tziortzis from the USA.

Tziortzis’ presence in the USA was the culmination of his efforts, a year in which he was fully supported by the Cyprus Sports Organisation and the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, while sponsors were ALCO Filters, ENEOS Motor Oil and Psaltis Auto Parts and supporters were Televantos Used Trucks, Sana Hiltonia and the Daytona track where he took the first steps of his career.

The official Air Carrier was TUS Airways.
