The Paphos municipality has filed a complaint with the police regarding the illegal use of a website for reserving sports fields claiming to be owned by the municipality.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the municipality informed the public that they have reported to the Paphos police the unauthorised website.

“Do not reserve the municipality’s sports fields through a website that does not belong to or have any affiliation with the municipality,” the statement advised.

The complaint is currently under investigation by the Paphos police, seeking to identify the individual behind the operation of this website.

Additionally, the municipality informed the public that by January 2024, as part of further digitalisation efforts of its services, a service for reserving all municipal spaces, including sports fields owned by, will be integrated into the PafosNow application.

“Public use of these fields will henceforth require reservations solely through the PafosNow application,” the statement concluded.
