Met office issues yellow alert: thunderstorms expected

The Meteorological Service has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms for Thursday.

Initially, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated to impact the western part of the island, extending gradually to cover the entire region on Thursday.

The possibility of hail exists, accompanied by potentially variable and strengthening winds.

The weather warning is in force from 12pm on Thursday until 2am on Friday.

Temperature will average around 19C in Nicosia, 20-22C in coastal areas and 5C in the higher mountains.
