Two arrests after 42kg drugs found

Two men were arrested in a drug bust where 42kg of cannabis were found in Larnaca, police said on Friday.

The drug squad, Ykan, on Thursday stopped a 21-year-old driving in a village in Larnaca, and found 20kg and 669g of cannabis in the vehicle.

The man was arrested on the spot, and during an investigation at his home police found another 21kg and 303g of cannabis.

The drugs were seized as evidence.

Later, during another connected drug bust, police stopped a 57-year-old driving in Larnaca. Officers found a syringe filled with cannabis oil. The man was arrested.

An investigation at the 57-year-old’s home saw police seize evidence.

Both are expected to appear in court on Friday for a remand.
