Deputy shipping minister promoting Cyprus shipping in Japan

Deputy Minister of shipping Marina Hadjimanoli is on Monday travelling to Japan to hold a series of meetings with ship owners, executives of shipping companies, financial institutions and shipyards.

The visit is part of intensive efforts to promote and strengthen the Cypriot registry and Cypriot shipping in general, in adition to attracting more shipping companies to the island.

As part of her visit, the deputy minister will attend the naming ceremony of two new cargo ships of the Safe Bulkers company built according to the the latest standards and environmental specifications which are to become part of the Cypriot shipping register.

The two ships will be named Ammochostos and Kyrenia in commemoration by the company of the passage of 50 years since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
