Workers at the Cyprus Broadcast Corporation (CyBC) will stop work at 8pm for an hour on Friday to protest the fact that colleagues who retired after January 2023 have not yet received their pension benefits.
The work stoppage, during the broadcaster’s main news cast, was decided by trade unions Sek and Peo, who announced their move in writing to the ministers of finance, interior and labour, as well as the country’s presidency.
The trade union warn that further measures will be taken if a solution is not found.
“If a solution is found, the measures will be lifted,” the trade unions said, adding that the retirees and workers “have run out of patience”.
